This past week has been crazy! Running from one activity to the next, we have been going nonstop. This extremely difficult when you are set on cooking every meal for your family- and especially baby.
I used to be so determined to make every ounce of baby food that my baby consumed. After talking with a friend one afternoon at Logan’s soccer practice, I came to an important realization: sometimes it’s about convenience. Sometimes, I simply don’t have the time to cut and boil a butternut squash! Other times, I just need a break. So today, I don’t feel guilty about the 4 boxes of baby food from Amazon that just arrived on my front porch. I have enough to worry about and this momma needs her sanity! I’m transitioning her to real food anyway (HOORAY!), so making special meals for her won’t last much longer.
On another note, I would like to quickly mention something about the Strawberry-Watermelon popsicles/lemonade post that I did this past week. I used agave nectar in the recipe. I have had a few friends ask me about agave. From what I understand, it is no healthier than regular table sugar. Agave has just as much fructose in it as high fructose corn syrup. A better ingredient to use would probably be honey, I’m just not sure how much. I will have to play around with it and then post whatever I figure out.
